58 Edition of Il Salone del Mobile. Milano 2019

The most important international fair of the sector is called  «Il Salone» and  is as a laboratory for experimentation and a crossing of new ideas.

El Salone del Mobile Milano is a space showing the work developed during a year. The result of a worked ideas, a socio-cultural evolution and also new opportunities for reflection of where we come from and where we are going to in the world of furniture and interior design.

BANNI – Elegant Interiors team attends every year this event to keep abreast of the latest trends, new firms and to establish and strengthen ties with our current suppliers and with the new ones.

But our work is also to explain the latest trends of 2019. So we have interviewed people from BANNI team who were attending this event. This is the result…

What do you highlight from this 58th edition of the Milan Furniture Fair?

The fair is an event with plenty of inputs, where is pays tribute to each new piece, to each designer and to the world of interior design in general.

This year we highlight the metallic finishes, lacquers, marble and imitation of marble are present in many examples of decoration, furniture and lighting.

As for the color range, we continue with the green and the blue of the previous edition but come powerfully warm tones from the ranges of ochre, orange tones and mustards…

Is there any piece that surprised you?

We highlight the Grand Relax from Vitra. This luxurious armchair, which will be released to the market next October, combines comfort, compact dimensions and a minimal and classical aesthetic.

From our brand LEMA we emphasized both the pieces of night furniture that were presented in the main city of the Lombardy and the warm tones, in contrast with the green ones that were the trend of this brand for the last year.

The Warp bed, in a relaxed informal style, is upholstered in Nabuck, along with the Mystery Road  bedside table  in thermotreated Oak, with a bronze-suspended base.

We highlight two novelties that have won a design award. Both are from Porada: the Dafto bedroom vanity, solid ash with metal structure in Bronzoro finish and the Ninfea desk of walnut with metal structure and brushed brass details.

Knoll continues to champion his claim: «Good design is good business » (F. Knoll). This year his way of commemorating the 100 anniversary of The Bauhaus is releasing a limited edition of  the Barcelona chair in dark green.

A real marvel…

We fell in love with the Sophie chair from Galliotti & Radice, very «cozy» and comfortable and in the tones that are fashionable as mentioned a few lines above.

The conclusion we reached is that every year all the firms get fabulous novelties, amazing products and the stands never disappoint us.

This year the fair stands out for increase in the artisan works and for the use of natural materials.

In each environment the mixture of materials and the artisans work play an important role combining different stuff such as: woods, marbles, natural fabrics such as furs, natural fibers and leathers, blown glass…

What about enlightenment?

Euroluce, the International Biennial of Enlightenment, has shown the novelties of the sector since 1976. Our firms have had a prominent presence showing in their stands the latest in environmental, decorative and technical lighting. Two examples of this are: Flos and Vibia.

Flos showed some very interesting outdoor pieces such as the Spot Wall collection, very special for their aesthetics and for the inspiration in natural elements.

Vibia, on the other hand, has presented the Plusminus lamp, the technical lighting par excellence. Plusminus allows a wide disposition of the lighting compositions, since their luminaires – of different sizes and shapes – can be placed freely along the tape. To do this, a textile belt extends vertically, horizontally or diagonally.

In the wake of this annual event do we incorporate any new brand?

As every year, in addition to visiting all our signatures, we always like to expand our portfolio, so, in short, we will surprise our clients with our new «acquisition «.

We will keep you updated… For the moment enjoy the latest from the sector, interior design and decoration visiting our showrooms of modern and luxury furniture  in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga-Marbella and Palma de Mallorca.
